LETRAN seized the top spot by trouncing Mapua, 25-12, 25-19, 25-8, Wednesday in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Gym.
Reigning men’s champion Knights also posted their second consecutive win by whipping the Cardinals, 25-12, 25-21, 25-14.
In the other distaff side match, Emilio Aguinaldo College beat debuting Arellano University, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18.
The Lady Knights improved to 2-0, while the Lady Generals moved up to 1-1 slate.
EAC rebounded from a 16-25, 15-25, 19-25 setback to College of Saint Benilde in the opening day of the event supported by Mikasa and Asics.
Chris Salvador and John Lozada led the way for the Chiefs in a 25-20, 25-19, 25-22 victory over the Generals in the other men’s match.
In juniors play, the Letran Squires prevailed over the Mapua Red Robins, 25-11, 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, while the EAC Brigadiers turned back the Arellano Braves, 25-15, 25-23, 25-13. (TJ)
