UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Dalta seeks a second straight women’s crown, while Letran is eyeing for a rare ‘three-peat’ in the men’s division as the NCAA beach volleyball tournament begins this Saturday at the La Salle Greenhills sand court.
Competitions will start at 9 a.m. right after a hour-long opening ceremonies prepared by tournament host Mapua led by event chairman Ding Lozano.
Season 85 MVP Keshia de Luna and April Ann Sartin will be back for the Lady Altas in their title retention bid.
De Luna and Sartin beat the College of Saint Benilde pair of Giza Yumang and LC Quemada to power Perpetual Help to its first-ever championship.
Yumang will have Rossan Fajardo as her new partner for the Lady Blazers to snatch the elusive title.
Season host San Sebastian College, the winningest women’s squad with three crowns, will parade Elaine Cruz and Karen Berbano, both newbies in beach volleyball.
Erickson Ramos will join forces with newcomer Rudy Gatdula for the Knights to extend their domination in the men’s side.
Ramos and Warren Pirante propelled Letran to its second straight men’s diadem after defeating then guest team Arellano University.
In the juniors division, the Perpetual Help Junior Altas will stake its hold of the championship. (TJ)
