FRESH from its conquest in the recently-concluded UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, University of Santo Tomas will compete in the Shakey’s V-League as overwhelming favorites in the seventh season slated to open on April 11 at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
But the Tigresses, who swept the two conference titles at stake last year, will face a tough opposition against the rest of the field, which includes the three Visayan squads in the season-opening tournament.
Aside from Cebu’s University of San Jose-Recoletos and University of St. La Salle from Bacolod, the first conference will feature the participation of reigning CESAFI champion Southwestern University, which will fill the void left by University of the Philippines.
