ATENEO and Adamson boosted their respective ‘Final Four’ bids after subduing separate foes Sunday night in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Dzi Gervacio had 23 hits as the Lady Eagles tripped Far Eastern University, 19-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 15-12, while the Lady Falcons bucked a third set setback to repulse a winless National University squad, 25-14, 29-27, 18-25, 25-20.
Ateneo and Adamson improved to 7-4 mark to remain in third spot.
The Lady Eagles and the Lady Falcons are now holding a two-game lead against the Lady Tamaraws, who fell to 5-6 in fifth place.

NCAA Beach Volley Shares Triple Tie for Rank 1

COLLEGE of Saint Benilde has not found an antidote yet to beat San Sebastian College in the NCAA beach volleyball tournament.
Margarita Pepito and Russel Jalbuna of the Lady Stags foiled Lady Blazers’ Giza Yumang and LC Quemada’s bid for a seven-game elimination round sweep with a 21-18, 13-21, 17-15 victory Saturday night at the Cantada Sports Center in Taguig City.
San Sebastian, the defending champion in the event backed by Mikasa, Gatorade, Speedo and Cheers, forged a three-way tie on top with University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and St. Benilde at 6-1.
